The Grainy Details
On November 22nd, we were blessed with twins. With double the joy came double the need for space. We settled out of Manhattan in the picturesque hamlet of South Salem, New York.
As we transformed our home project-by-project, the twins played on every square foot of those twin acres. It became a playground, an adventure park, a water park, a snow park, a soccer field and inside, a test kitchen for all types of food.
One day, their Godmama Karen’s homemade granola arrived in the mailbox, unannounced and cloaked in the love Godmama has for healthy food and healthy families.
It was otherworldly.
My quest – beyond managing a corporate career, raising the twins with my husband, raising the dog, dabbling in photography, co-managing the household and a healthy lifestyle – was to recreate her granola.
I did not succeed… I exceeded!
Taking a decade to practice, taste, gift and learn key culinary tricks (like pre-toasting the coconut and adding the golden raisins well after the heat had backed off), Twin Acres Granola became the result. And with every batch baked, it was crystal clear others needed to share in what our whole family loves and enjoys as a way to jumpstart each day.
My love for finding post-career purpose and for healthy eating morphed into a passion for curating doubly delicious flavors for you to enjoy. Just as our family does, we hope Twin Acres Granola becomes a great source for you also to draw energy from at the start of each day.
The eight flavors offered are curated as our family favorites.
The ingredients are sourced to be natural and free of processed sugars and preservatives. Any element giving moisture to the granola is derived from the oil in the nuts, the fruit, honey and in some cases, pure maple syrup.
I am grateful to be able to share my purpose and my doubly delicious granola recipes with you. I am particularly grateful to Godmama Karen for gifting us the original bag of granola. She had no idea what she started… or perhaps she did!
